* Perfection has just gotten a little bit better with the Mercedes-Benz 2014 SLS-Class. A strong yet lightweight spaceframe is at the center of every SLS-Class vehicle. Its body is curved and contoured for aerodynamic superiority. A retractable rear wing spoiler is beautifully integrated into the trunk lid, color keyed for a consistent look. This gorgeous body rests upon AMG 10-spoke forged alloy wheels with a matte black inlay and machine polished face. The interior features black piano lacquer interior trim. A 3-spoke AMG performance steering wheel has racing design elements and is encased within hand stitched premium leather. The Cockpit Management and Data (COMAND) system features a 7-inch, high-resolution color-LCD display. This is utilized to manage audio, video, and other hands free calling and navigation functions. Each deeply contoured, power adjustable seat features 3-position memory, and 3-stage heating systems. A handcrafted 6.3-liter V-8 has a peak output 583 hp at 6,800 rpm and 479 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm. The SLS-Class has a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT dual-clutch transaxle. The transaxle, which incorporates the transmission and limited-slip differential, is mounted at the rear axle, greatly contributing to the ideal 47:53 front/rear dynamic weight distribution. Plus, a carbon fiber driveshaft provides a direct transfer of power without lag or loss. A system of eight advanced air bags is designed to offer protection in a variety of accident types. Dual-stage front air bags are improved by knee air bags for both the driver and passenger. Bi-Xenon headlamps help deliver greater visibility than halogen headlamps because their brighter, whiter light is much closer to natural daylight. Finally, dual-circuit power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, backed by an Antilock Braking System will keep you in control.
